Lisa and Thomas met during one of Thomas' business trips to Sweden, where he stayed for a month before heading back home again, Charles has never met his father as his mother failed to get in contact with him after realizing she was pregnant. CHILDHOOD: Charles was raised by a single mother who cared about him but worked a demanding job, this led to him often having to spend evenings at friends or his grandparents places. As a kid he often stayed in his own shell, focusing on his own development and not so much on the world around him. He played a lot of different sports while growing up, ice hockey, football, orientation and more but did not find one that he stuck to.
YOUTH: In his youth, Charles became more and more extrovert after realizing that life was more than your own corner of the world. He started expanding his social circle and met a lot of people he looked up to, both those who were nice and some who were not so nice. He also started to realize that the absence of a father figure throughout his whole childhood had left its mark. He started questioning his mother more and more about his father and as he found out more an more information he grew to question his mother. If his father was a successful stock market investor, why didn't his mother try harder to reach out to him, imagine the world they could have lived. This feeling slowly started turning to resent for his mother for not giving him the life he felt like he deserved and he was determined to find and introduce himself to his father.
He did some of his own investigative work and found his fathers information, he started working as a construction worker right after high school, saving money to be able to afford a trip to New York. As soon as he had enough money, he spent it all on a no-return flight ticket and three nights in a hotel room, this was all he could afford. He left to reconcile with his father, but upon arriving and reaching out he realized that his father had a wife and three children and wanted nothing to do with Charles. He was now stuck in a different country with no way of making it back home.
CURRENT STATUS: After being stuck in another country with only construction work as his previous experience, Charles started working odd jobs, with one goal in sight. He had to make it back home to Sweden. His employees all paid him in cash, he slept under bridges and tried to make due.
One day he was awoken by a stinging sensation in his ribs, he heard laughters and shuffles. When he opened his eyes, three masked individuals were towering over him. They robbed Charles and left him with only the money he had kept in his underwear, defeated and broken, he had given up. The world was a horrible place, he missed his mother, his friends and family but it felt like he would never be able to get back home, life was not worth living.
He took what was left of his stuff and started walking, shaking while silently sobbing, he tripped and fell, hurting his knee. With a big sigh, he almost gave up, but then he saw it on a flyer on the ground. "Bus tickets to Los Santos, the city of dreams: $85", he quickly collected himself, sat up and picked up his stack of money, counting them. He had just enough and decided to try and find a bus to leaves this damned place and make himself a new home in Los Santos.
